The Association aims to help preserve the beautiful and unique nature of the
Piceno and Marche region, and encourage the local communities to live harmoniously
within it. The region is currently threatened by the poorly controlled urbanisation
that is sweeping much of the developed world. Our approach is to use fine arts
and local handicrafts to explore, teach and understand our relationships with
nature. We organise targeted events such as: · Group and solo contemporary art
shows set in our historic garden, especially sculptures, installations and performance.
· Guided garden visits teaching the history of man’s interaction with our landscape
and the future potential of our plants to benefit mankind. · Conferences, workshops,
school visits and study groups to promote dialogue between artists and the public
on today’s friction between man and the environment. We also work with local craftsmen
to create contemporary designs to help reinvigorate the local hand made traditions
of ‘tombolo’ lace, ceramics, leather, copperware and textiles.
